BSkyB

Refurbishment of 1980s buildings for an administrative HQ.

We provided open plan space with minimal closed offices to enhance internal communications and support company culture.

We designed a flexible interior including meeting pods with integrated cooling and lighting which can be relocated over a weekend.

By exposing the building structure and installing exposed chilled beams we balanced energy, maintenance costs and CO2 emissions.

Brief

  • consolidate 12 departments into one campus from scattered locations to create administrative HQ for 1000 staff
  • transform a gloomy poorly serviced 15 year old building
  • stick to a very tight programme requiring early start on site while concept design was developed

Results

  • inspirational flexible workspace with strong brand presence
  • a green loft aesthetic for creative studio environment  with enhanced sustainability credentials
  • greatly enhanced staff facilities
