Chavasse Park, part of the 42-acre Liverpool One development, has won the BALI Grand Award beating 30 other category winners to take the top prize at the National Landscape Awards on 5 December.
BDP’s landscape architects carried out the design work on the project led by developer Grosvenor Estates, which also includes retail, housing and leisure. Willerby Landscapes was contractor for the project.
Chavasse Park lies at the heart of the scheme connecting the retail area to the city’s historic docklands. It comprises in excess of 20,000 sq m of soft and hard landscaping, and lies over three storeys of car parking, retail and internal public space. It is bordered by a new hotel and 600 apartments.
The judges called the scheme "outstanding" and a "fine example of urban renewal".
