Civil & Structural Engineering
“What gives us an edge is our unique experience in contributing right from the start of projects, before the architects’ ideas begin to form.”
Michelle McDowell, chair of civil and structural engineering
At Marlowe Academy in Kent, we designed the longest spanning Kerto grid shell roof in the UK. It enabled us to create a building that is not only breathtaking but also highly efficient, easy to construct and sustainable.
This creativity, along with the ability to work closely with architects and contractors, is what make us special.
Our inventive structural solutions include:
- Northern Ireland’s highest public viewing platform at Victoria Square
- titanium-clad lecture theatre on stilts at Napier University
- cantilevered roof at Aintree Racecourse
- vertical hooks supporting the no-pillar Hampden Gurney school
We are also an industry leader in the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM). This technology enables us to offer clients earlier visualisations, more accurate material quantities, better supply chain management and faster build schedules.
