Kathryn is head of housing alongside Stephen Marshall. She is responsible for BDP's London housing projects.
She is widely experienced in delivering major projects which create new sustainable communities by integrating housing, mixed use and learning. Her specialist skills in masterplanning and strategic thinking allow her to work closely with clients and user groups to set project briefs and goals, achieve planning consents on challenging sites and ensure projects are deliverable and financially viable.
She has an important role in developing BDP’s work in the residential sector, and is currently leading the design team for a masterplan for three campuses at Queen Mary University, London.
BDP’s London studio is hosting a debate on the current UK housing crisis asking if the almost terminal decline in construction of housing since the 1960s, coupled with a lack of trust in modern building techniques, has also led to a decline in respect for architects in this sector.
