Qibing is a parametric designer with an interest in programming.

He leads the design of mixed use, office and retail schemes having been involved in notable projects such as Zhangjiang Science City Urban Design and competition winners Zhengzhou mixed use project and Shanghai HK226 Plot Design.

His extensive experience of working in the UK, Germany, Japan, Australia has given him an international understanding of vernacular culture.

He has also been a guest tutor at Tongji University lecturing on BIM and is on the committee of Shanghai Youth Federation.

What will architectural/design practice look like in future?

When globalisation is seen as failing, the concept of vernacularism will lead future design especially in China where there is a rich cultural heritage.
