When: Tuesday 2nd February
Where: Alder Hey Children’s Healthpark, East Prescot Rd, Liverpool L14 5AB

Chairman David Cash joined healthcare directors Ged Couser, Dominic Hook and Benedict Zucchi at Alder Hey Children’s Healthpark for the presentation of our GGB award which is given annually to the best built project of the year, from any studio, and named in honour of BDP’s founder, Sir George Grenfell Baines.

At a ceremony held in the hospital’s atrium Lady Grenfell Baines presented the client’s award to the Alder Hey NHS Foundation Trust and it was accepted by Jack Hutton, a former patient.  Jack is Chair of the Alder Hey Children and Young People's Forum which contributed to the briefing process as well as providing client feedback during the design development stages of the project and he is now studying to become an architect, having had work experience at our Manchester studio, and has achieved first class honours in his Part 1 degree.

Benedict Zucchi and Dominic Hook accepted a design award on behalf of the London studio team responsible for developing the original concept and Ged Couser collected another on behalf of his team in Manchester who developed the concept into the completed project.

The ceremony was also attended by the hospital’s Sir David Henshaw (Chairman of the Trust), Louise Shepherd (CEO), David Powell (Director of Development) and David Houghton (Project Manager).
