Head of sustainability, Philip Gray is one of the speakers at an RTPI South West conference looking at what climate change means for the built environment and what planning can realistically do to deliver low carbon living in a changing climate.  Philip will present on developing sustainable buildings, looking at what makes a building sustainable for health and wellbeing as well as defining its energy efficiency.  He will showcase some of BDP’s most recent innovative projects including Boxpark Croydon, the new global R&D headquarters for AstraZeneca in Cambridge and the multi award winning Enterprise Centre, University of East Anglia, which has just won Commercial Project of the Year at the CIBSE Building Performance awards. He will ask if the planning process sometimes get in the way and how can planners help to improve the delivery of sustainable buildings.

The conference will examine the planning policy on climate change a decade on from the first dedicated planning policy, published by the government, through a series of workshops and presentations from industry experts.
