BDP shortlisted for two lighting design awards

BDP has been shortlisted for the prestigious Lighting Design Awards for the ninth year in a row.

Following both projects being shortlisted for the FX Awards last month, Trinity Leeds, a new 1m sq ft retail scheme for Land Securities, is shortlisted in the large retail category and Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) in the lighting for leisure category.

At EICC the feature lighting highlights the venue and plays an important part in attracting major events. Internally, the lighting also helps to provide a level of customer service that the venue prides itself on.

At Trinity Leeds, the emphasis on the lighting design was to create a visual draw that would encourage repeat visits to the centre. The development has already attracted 2.7m customers in its first month and continues to attract repeat custom.

The awards will be announced on Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, London on March 20, 2014.

Colin Ball, lighting designer at BDP also sat on the Product Award judging panel.
