Parkway Newbury wins housing award

Parkway Newbury won silver in the best mixed use development category of the What House? Awards on 15 November.

Owned and developed by Standard Life, BDP was the architect and landscape architect for the scheme which provides new retail accommodation along with luxury residential apartments and affordable housing units, all sensitively integrated into the surrounding historic fabric.

The judges citation reads: “An ambitious redevelopment of a former car park site, Parkway is a high-quality, mixed-use town centre scheme that has been well planned, well designed and well executed. The residential element, while contemporary, takes its design cues from materials and features found in other buildings in the local conservation area. The apartments are all generously sized, and the wide mix has resulted in a diverse new community.”
