Project details

The redevelopment of the St George’s Quarter at LSBU includes a new learning centre, a galleried performing arts theatre and a creative hub. The design preserves and refurbishes the listed Victorian chapel facade, providing a flexible space for students and the local community.

Working with WilkinsonEyre Architects, our engineers incorporated an open loop borehole installation that provides low carbon heating and cooling in the design.

Brief

  • deliver a new Learning Resources Centre including a fully automated  book storage and retrieval system
  • strategy to conserve Grade II listed chapel
  • design to a BREEAM Outstanding rating
