The Effective Laboratory: Scotland

When: Tuesday 1st March 09.00 – 16.40
Where: Technology and Innovation Centre, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow G1 1RD

S-Lab, in association with the University of Strathclyde, is organising a one-day conference at the BDP designed Technology and Innovation Centre.  The conference aims to highlight and share good practice in laboratory design, operation and use and to strengthen connections between the many science facilities in Scotland, and beyond.   Architect directors Scott Mackenzie and Christoph Ackermann will present the keynote address with Stella Matko, Director of Estates for the University of Strathclyde, discussing designing for industry collaboration and the success of the Technology and Innovation Centre.

London studio architect director Keith Papa will also present in one of the morning parallel sessions on designing labs for innovation and industry and the projects he and his team have worked on for the University of Cambridge including the Chemical Engineering & Biotechnology Faculty, Nanoscience Centre and the Maxwell Centre.

BDP is a gold sponsor of S-Lab (Safe, Successful and Sustainable Laboratories), a not-for-profit organisation established to support world class science with a growing involvement in the commercial and public sectors. The conference has a wide range of content which will appeal to all stakeholders connected with laboratories (managers, estates and facilities, technical support, researchers and teachers, procurement, designers ) and tickets can be booked using this link.
