Kingston, UK | British Land and Universities Superannuation Scheme | £400m | 21230 sqm | 2022 |
The BDP designed scheme will see £400m of investment breathe new life into the town centre, and create engaging and memorable buildings and spaces to complete the town centre retail core and reinvigorate the Memorial Gardens.
The redeveloped site provides 385 homes in three distinct buildings. A new cinema and a new sky restaurant with panoramic views towards Hampton Court are provided on top of a refurbished multi-storey car park. A series of restaurant units around a central public space is the focal point of the revamped 1960s shopping centre, and the new buildings vary in height to contribute to an articulated skyline that responds to the local character and adjacent heritage assets.
The new Eden Walk will transform Kingston's retail environment and deliver new homes and hundreds of jobs in the town centre
