Project details

Waterway House is a residential development comprising 191 Built to rent apartments just 300 meters south of Victoria Station in Nottingham and at the edge of the city centre.

The proposal features a central courtyard as well as multiple south facing roof terraces and recessed balcony spaces which emphasise the stepped massing of the building and the ‘green corridor’ environment defined by the wide Meadows Way.

In addition the ground level apartments are raised from the street level and recessed to create an active frontage while offering residents privacy from passers by.

The existing landscape which incorporates multiple established trees has been enhanced to provide a much more welcoming public realm and which contributes more positively to the setting of the neighbouring listed building to the north.

The building has been designed to exceed the BREAAM guidance by 10% and all apartments achieve or exceed National Space Standards. While the building is within easy walking distance of the tram, train and bus services the city centre itself is less than 1 kilometre to the north. There are also multiple additional sustainability features including an extensive PV array on the roof, green spaces for amenity and habitat creation, 191 secure cycle spaces and multiple EV charge points.
