Peter chairs the transport sector and is widely experienced in rail related transportation work.

Peter is Head of Transport for BDP across our UK and international offices. He is a widely experienced and highly regarded architect director specialising in infrastructure and urban design work, including acting as lead architect on major transportation projects of national significance. His design work particularly focusses on the creation of human-scaled environments within the context of large-scale transport infrastructure.

His experience across the sector incorporates award-winning rail, metro, bus and aviation projects. Current major projects include 9 underground stations in Dhaka (Bangladesh) and Leeds Station. His work has included all the major rail infrastructure projects in Manchester over the past 25 years: Piccadilly and Victoria Stations plus the Ordsall Chord bridges.

Ordsall Chord

The Northern Hub project unlocks railway routes, improves connections and provides faster journey times across the north of England with Manchester at its centre.

Victoria Station Manchester

This dramatic refurbishment of Manchester’s Victoria railway station has centred around the removal of a series of trainshed roofs which have been replaced with a 15,000 sqm ETFE-clad column free structure.

Middleton Arena

A new civic and leisure centre for Middleton. Included within the 7,320 sq m building is a 500-seat auditorium, two swimming pools, a dry sports hall, a private gym, a dance studio and squash courts.
