Adrian is a principal and leads our London team on retail-led mixed-use schemes.

His expertise includes concept design, masterplanning and urban design with an in-depth knowledge of the residential, retail and leisure sectors. He leads our London architectural profession and has won various awards including retail architect of the year in 2006 as well as having his work exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.

He has a passion for environmental sustainability and believes architects have an essential role to tackle climate change through the design of zero carbon and low energy buildings and places.

Notable projects include: The Well, Toronto; St James Quarter, Edinburgh; Westgate, Oxford; Elements Square Livingston and New Cathedral Street Manchester.

What are your biggest personal influences? “In terms of design, Frank Lloyd Wright and Alvar Aalto, I am particularly interested in the drawings of Wright and the materiality of Aalto.”

The Well

The Well is formed of seven individual towers, all of which are linked by a central retail spine.

St James Quarter

A major mixed-use regeneration of the St James Centre is located at the east end of James Craig’s New Town. The retail element of the scheme totals 70,000 sqm, with the addition of a luxury hotel, up to 143 new homes, 30 restaurants and a multi-screen cinema

ABC Beirut

A state of the art retail and leisure centre designed to European standards but with elements of traditional Lebanese design.

Chapelfield

Community consultation drives urban regeneration. We designed a mixed-use retail-led scheme featuring a major public open space, 49,237 sq m (530,000 sq ft) of retail space, 80 shops, 17 cafés and restaurants, 1000 car parking spaces and 117 apartments.

New Cathedral Street

Retail-led mixed use development in central Manchester.

Elements Square

A new public heart for Livingston. Conceived as six separate buildings united by a transparent ETFE roof, it creates a new public heart for Livingston, and includes a major covered tiered space with an upper level wintergarden.
