MARTIN RETIRED FROM BDP IN 2015
He moved from the Sheffield to the Bristol studio in 2004, becoming head of the studio in 2013.
Martin regularly speaks at healthcare conferences and is regularly asked to comment in technical and national press. He is a member of the NHS Design Review Panel and deputy chair of the Knowledge Transfer Network for Healthcare.
In 2000 BDP was not doing any healthcare work but the sector has grown to represent over 20% of the firm’s turnover, and has achieved top ten status in the world rankings.
Martin has been actively developing BDP's presence in the Australian market.
BDP has been instrumental in establishing the advantages of a humanist and research based approach to hospital design in the UK, including the universal provision of single bedrooms.
