CTBUH 2023 International Conference Recap

How can high density development be humanized to create cities where people can thrive? This was the central topic at the 2023 International Conference of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH), held in Singapore from October 16th to 21st, 2023. Our firm had the privilege of attending the conference and contributing to the ongoing global architectural conversation.

On Monday 16 October, Raymond Hoe, BDP’s recently appointed regional director for Southeast Asia, led an architectural workshop exploring the balance between nature, technology, and high density.

On Tuesday 17 October, our Toronto team presented three insightful sessions. Sami Kazemi, Principal, explored inclusive strategies in his talk on high density living for all. Later, he joined Michelle Xuereb, Director of Innovation, to showcase 99 Gerrard, a reimagined mixed-use urban intensification project that has been awarded a CTBUH Repositioning Award.

Stefanie Siu Chong, Principal, shared the visionary approach to the design of 307 Lake Shore Boulevard East, an upcoming high rise development in Toronto that has been awarded a CTBUH Future Project Award.

Finally, Jeremy Farrington, Principal and BDP’s Head of Asia Pacific, had the honour of chairing a session on density, wellbeing, and social value on Wednesday 18 October.

Our firm is committed to pushing the boundaries of architectural design and to delivering projects that not only meet the highest standards of excellence but also contribute to the ongoing evolution of urban environments. We couldn't be more thrilled about our team's outstanding contributions and the lasting impact of our work.
