Construction Leadership Council launches new website

The Construction Leadership Council has launched its new website to promote itself as one of the top industry councils in the UK. BDP’s chairman David Cash has been a member of the council since September 2015 with responsibility for leading the Exports and Trade work stream.

The CLC’s mission is to provide leadership to help transform the UK construction industry and position it as a driver of productivity across the economy.

David said: “When the UK market is hot there is less incentive for architects to look for new work overseas. However, I would argue that it is during better times that the right judgements can best be made about what inevitably will be the important issues for a practice. Britain has always been an outward looking country which punches well above its weight on the international stage. We architects need to play our part.”

Andrew Wolstenholme OBE, Co-Chair of the Construction Leadership Council said: “The CLC’s primary role is to be a link between construction businesses and government. As a sector we must become more productive, innovative, skilled, sustainable and exportable. We have an important role to play and, if we are going to live up to our name as a leadership council, we must bring you, the industry, along on that journey.”
