BDP to deliver new Google HQ

We have been appointed as lead consultant and design delivery architect to deliver Google’s new UK headquarters at King’s Cross in London.

We are also working on the workplace planning and interior design for the project working alongside concept architects Heatherwick Studio and Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) and are lighting designer for the scheme, won in a separate commission.

The 60,400 sqm project utilises a large area of land alongside St Pancras railway station and will provide office space for up to 4,000 people across 12 storeys.

Google’s chief executive Sundar Pichai said “here in the UK it’s clear to me that computer science has a great future with the talent, educational institutions and passion for innovation we see all around us. We are committed to the UK and excited to continue our investment in our new King’s Cross campus.”

BDP currently has a 30 strong team at Google’s project office working on the £650m project. Google aims to start on site by the end of 2017.
