Atria

Facts

Location Client Cost Completion
Edinburgh, UK City of Edinburgh Council £42m 2013

Project details

The development comprises 200,000 sq ft of accommodation, and marks the completion of the city’s Exchange business district. It is split between two buildings, Atria One providing highly efficient, flexible floorplates over seven floors and the smaller Atria Two providing office space split over two levels.

It benefits from green sedum roofs, low E glazing, energy efficient lifts, electric car charging spaces and an abundance of cycle spaces.

Set in the shadow of Edinburgh castle and adjacent to the city centre world heritage site the scheme required sensitive negotiation with the planning authority, Historic Scotland and amenity groups.

The development has been undertaken alongside an expansion of the adjacent Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC), also designed by BDP.

It is very exciting that Atria Edinburgh is now complete. Atria is helping to provide Edinburgh with a competitive advantage in attracting new, and retaining existing, businesses.
