Project details

This design for an exemplar school was conceived as a clear organisational diagram in a dynamic and welcoming building form.

The resulting scale model is able to be applied to a variety of schools, single key stage or through schools, and on different building plots throughout the UAE.

Sustainability underpinned the approach and the final design is in itself an expression of the environmental narrative.

Brief

  • a prototype design for the ADEC schools programme, to enable the development of world class learning facilities in the UAE

Results

  • a practical and efficient building typology which through its design DNA can become site-specific and contextual
  • an exciting, innovative and sustainable solution to meet ADEC’s immediate and future requirements
