Capella Building

Facts

Location Client Cost Completion
Atlantic Quay, Glasgow, UK Wilson Bowden £26m 2009

Project details

A free standing 11 storey tower at the heart of the International Financial Services District.

The building is quadrant shaped on plan in response to a landscaped rotunda generated by the masterplan.

Unitized curtain walling panels incorporate opaque coloured bands and linear frit to reduce solar gain and add visual interest.

New public realm recalls the historic importance of Atlantic Quay’s status as Glasgow’s principal dockside.

The scheme demonstrates what can be achieved through hard work and close cooperation amongst consultants and contractors
