Project details

Situated underground and spanning 10km, the third Asahan hydroelectric power plant is situated on the Asahan River, Sumatra, Indonesia.

Nippon Koei’s Construction Supervision Services for the vast infrastructure project incorporates a pilot BIM implementation scheme, which leverages BDP’s expertise in digital technology for construction to aid Indonesia towards a sustainable future.

Our industry leading BIM platform optimises the design and construction process so the client, contractor and Nippon Koei’s civil engineering team can make collaborative, fast and accurate decisions, which improve the construction process.

When completed, the 174 megawatt river run system will improve the stability of the electrical supply in North Sumatra, whilst contributing to Indonesia’s 23% renewable energy generation share goal by 2025.
