Transport for Wales (TfW) has developed the brand-new Cardiff Bus Interchange, a centralised bus facility located next to Cardiff Central Railway Station. Part of a broader Government initiative, the project promotes sustainable travel, enhancing connectivity by integrating bus and rail transport with walking, cycling, and taxis. Enhanced links between the Interchange and station are supported by clear wayfinding and accessibility features. Situated just a 50-metre walk from the station and alongside Cardiff’s cycle network, it promotes sustainable transport choices and streamlines onward journeys. The facility includes a 14-bay bus terminus and extensive ancillary space. The Interchange represents significant advancement in integrated and sustainable transport in Wales and aims to make public transport the easiest choice for everyone, connecting people with work, health and leisure opportunities. |
The state-of-the-art facility showcases our commitment to integrated and sustainable transport. The BDP design champions clear wayfinding and accessibility, ensuring that all passengers can navigate between bus, rail, taxi and bicycle with ease.
