Project details

Anticipating a significant rise in local demand for emergency services, Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust embarked on a mission to enhance its capacity. To achieve this, they designed a new two-storey extension next to the existing emergency department, alongside the refurbishment of the existing department itself. This integrated model of emergency, urgent, and ambulatory care was conceived to provide the community with a comprehensive range of medical services.

Procured through the ProCure22 Framework, the impressive £40 million two-storey facility offers an additional 4,864m2 of clinical space to the Trust. The building includes a dedicated Urgent Treatment Centre, a specialised Paediatric Assessment Unit, an Acute Medical Unit, and a Medical Ambulatory Unit.
