Project details

BDP is working along with Nippon Koei in India and PwC to develop masterplans for the first phase of Chennai Kanyakumari Industrial Corridor (CKIC) , funded by the Asian Development Bank. The CKIC corridor is part of the larger Eastern Coastal Economic Corridor (ECEC) of India. The Indian government’s recent promotion of economic corridors is a notable step in kickstarting the country's manufacturing sector.

The first phase consists of two industrial growth areas centred around Madurai and Thootukudi. We will develop further masterplans for three clusters within each growth centre (six in total). The southern region of the state of Tamil Nadu is being prepared for enhanced industrial and economic growth. The regional masterplan is being developed keeping in view the growth centres and transport infrastructure of the region.
