Project details

The Grade B listed Marr College in Troon has been extensively refurbished and a new extension building added.

Work included converting two open central courtyards into three storey high learning plazas, and rationalising the Troon Community Sports Hub to accommodate two all-weather rugby and hockey pitches as well as other community sports facilities.

A new technical wing has been constructed at the rear of the original building with an atrium slot created between the two buildings. This area provides dining, library, informal learning and social spaces. The placing of the new extension opens up the original vista of the historic building which was welcomed by the community and Historic Environment Scotland.
