St. James’s Hospital, Dublin, Ireland | BAM Contractors | €40m | 15,000m2 | 2016 |
The project involved the demolition of existing buildings and the construction of a new 15,000m2 state of the art facility. This part four storey and part seven storey hospital building houses clinical, support and research facilities and offices of the Mercer’s Institute, along with 116 bed ward accommodation.
The site for the new building was crossed by many key M&E services including main electrical power, comms/data and gas supplies. The location of all of these services needed to be accurately identified and a services diversion strategy developed and implemented.
The works also involved refurbishment within Hospital 5 and the development of a new multi-faith prayer centre.
