BDP was commissioned to prepare a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) to guide the future development of North Finchley town centre. The North Finchley Town Centre Framework SPD provides planning briefs for six key opportunity sites within the town centre, whilst setting an overall spatial strategy and development principles for the area.

Working alongside GL Hearn and Urban Flow, the SPD was produced through a collaborative engagement process with the local community and stakeholders, including businesses, residents and town centre users. Engagement methods included one-to-one interviews with groups, a vision workshop and a development options workshop to review key future development sites.

The draft SPD was published for public consultation in October 2017, during which BDP represented LBB at consultation events. The final SPD was adopted in February 2018.
