Project details

New life for a major heritage site.

We kept the existing street pattern but enhanced the close-grained fabric of the block with a series of courtyards linked by separate pedestrian and vehicular routes.

We repaired and converted the existing structures for a range of residential and commercial uses.

The aesthetic of the area was preserved while boosting floor space with carefully balanced new infill buildings that varied between two and six storeys.

6,975 sq m (75,000 sq ft) of new commercial and retail space
better linkages and cross-site routes for pedestrians
94 new apartments, including affordable housing
full provision for parking and other amenities
new attraction for Leeds
