Shanghai, China | Wanhua Chemicals | 60,000 sqm | 2018 |
Wanhua’s new building in Shanghai is a research and development centre for visiting international experts.
Inspired by the work that Wanhua Chemicals carry out, their new R&D centre uses the idea of organic forms interacting with each other and their environment. The centre consists of a series of buildings that connect via podium levels, all positioned around a central landscaped plaza. The surrounding external space is designed to complement and boost its urban context. There are spaces to rest, play and contemplate, promoting a sense of wellbeing and healthy lifestyle for its users.
