Project details

Successfully addressing the design issues raised by the suburban mall.

The scheme is arranged around a single ground level mall with the food court at first floor.  The site slopes 30 metres from west to east, and advantage is taken of this to give access from the western car parks directly into the food court and to the first floor of the department store.

Lofty glazed roofs to the mall and atriums bring high levels of natural light to the public areas.

Bus and coach facilities, taxi ranks and 4800 car spaces ensure good customer access.

Great emphasis was placed on the quality of the landscaped setting with 5000 trees on the site.

A very strong contemporary architectural feel well integrated into a dramatic landscaped setting, and the plan layout is extremely efficient.
