Wren Hotel makes the most of its tight urban site offering 137 compact and luxurious bedrooms in the heart of Dublin. Situated in the historical Temple Bar district, the small format hotel nestles sensitively into its context at Andrew’s Lane. A signature external stepped terrace and double height arrival space provides a unique entrance for the hotel, enhancing the public realm and increasing visibility along its street.
The interdisciplinary project is the first hotel in Ireland to achieve an operational net zero carbon rating as defined by the WGBC, without the use of carbon offsets. It is constructed using the most advanced sustainable technologies, eliminating the need for fossil fuels and allowing them to operate on 100% renewable electricity.
BDP’s interdisciplinary team of architects and engineers were uniquely placed to design and deliver this first of its kind hotel in Ireland. With the spotlight of the world on sustainable practices, we are so proud to be able to present a building that has zero local pollution, burns no fossil fuels and meets the requirements to become ‘Net Zero Carbon’.
