Project details

Whilst Yorkshire Energy Park is in essence a business park, it has features and characteristics which materially differentiate it from other business park developments. Specifically, Yorkshire Energy Park includes on-site clean energy generation – providing a low-cost and accessible energy source for occupiers on the site – and data storage provision. Combined, these two pieces of infrastructure on the site differentiate this business park from other examples – with end users envisaged to be those with high energy and/or data requirements. This offer is complemented by education, training and research provision, alongside an outdoor building materials testing facility, which also carry high energy and data demands themselves. The synergies associated with the co-location of these uses alongside the business park and infrastructure in terms of knowledge sharing, research and development, and vocational training opportunities is a key element of the Yorkshire Energy Park proposals. The Yorkshire Energy Par also provides off-site energy infrastructure for the generation of electricity to export to the grid, as well as deliver the relocation and upgrading of the existing sports pitches and facilities (within the site boundary). Across the scheme, the Yorkshire Energy Park will support the delivery of business / economic growth in line with the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) key sectors – including engineering/manufacturing, digital, chemicals, food, and energy (generation)."

Results

  • The overall image of the site is intended to be one of a clean, contemporary, and functional business park and associated uses set within a green environment.
  • An integrity of design rationale, supported by appropriate building materials, use of colour, lighting, and signage will help to create a clear identity for Yorkshire Energy Park consistent with its desired marketing and branding image.
