Illustrious Company was formed in 2000 to create new forms of immersive spatialized sound composition using their unique three dimensional 3D AudioScape surround-sound system, in particular for collaborative works with digital and fine artists, world heritage sites, museums, exhibitions, live events, dance, theatre, technology developers, research and education.
Over seventy unique new creative projects using 3D sound composition have been created and exhibited or performed worldwide during the last seventeen years.
Illustrious can also produce 3D spatialised soundscapes using clients’ existing content. Illustrious also offers consultancy concerning all aspects of world leading sonic research and commercial applications.
Illustrious specialises in immersive 3D sound installations of many different kinds - from small galleries or domestic environments to huge outdoor public art spaces, all in hyper-real three dimensional sound.
The largest we've so far deployed was 125m x 125m x 30m in the gardens at the Palacio di Belles Artes, Mexico City, and the enormous Tales From The Bridge installation covering the entire length of the Millennium Bridge over the Thames between St. Pauls and Tate Modern (350 m x 10m).
Clients include The British Council, The Science Museum, The Royal Ballet, The National Portrait Gallery, Liverpool One, Amnesty International, The V&A Museum, BBC TV, the Royal Observatory Greenwich, BAFTA, Museum Of London. Tate Modern, Tate Britain, Red Bull Music Academy, City Of Westminster Council, GLA, Brighton City Council, amongst many others. Illustrious were recently selected by UKTI as one of the top 100 creative enterprises in their Creative Industries HVO Taskforce for export.
