Stephen is joint head of housing and responsible for BDP's non-London housing projects.
Stephen oversees large scale mixed use and residential masterplans as well as building commissions in workplace, housing, energy, retail and higher education. He is able to apply his detailed understanding of many building types to masterplans and feasibility studies, ensuring proposals which are inspirational, yet credible.
He has guided masterplans for various large scale regeneration schemes, including Backaplan in Sweden, in addition to residential led masterplans which will deliver thousands of new homes. The consistently high quality of his work, across all sectors, has been recognised in numerous awards schemes, including the RIBA Awards, RICS Awards, BCSC Gold Awards and the Civic Trust Special Awards.
Stephen is a member of Sheffield City Council’s Urban Design Review Panel, which encourages high quality design while supporting Sheffield’s aim of becoming a low carbon city.
