Situated underground and spanning 10km, the third Asahan hydroelectric power plant is situated on the Asahan River, Sumatra, Indonesia.

When completed, the 174 megawatt river run system will improve the stability of the electrical supply in North Sumatra, whilst contributing to Indonesia’s 23% renewable energy generation share goal by 2025.
