The proposals for the Chongqing Pencil Factory site comprise the conversion of a former factory building integrated with a new build tower. The design refurbishes the buildings to modern day standards to suit commercial and retail needs.
A modern exciting new community hub in the heart of the city
The new build tower is placed at the southern end of the site and links seamlessly with the existing buildings. Its height responds to the urban context and provides a new landmark for the area.
Buildings are arranged around a landscaped courtyard plaza with cultural and performance spaces, and access to the commercial buildings via linking bridges.
