The core vision for this project is to establish an inviting and accessible life sciences research campus, distinct from conventional, closed-off office complexes. Central to the design is a vibrant “heart” space that connects the two plots of land, ensuring public access and providing essential communal spaces.
This innovative project includes two primary research and development centres, an administrative building, and a conference centre, all crafted to create a forward-thinking and environmentally conscious workspace. The R&D centres will focus on biomedical technology, combining research, incubation, and sales functions.
The campus comprises four interconnected buildings, each serving a specific purpose while promoting collaboration. Efficient circulation routes ensure smooth movement throughout the campus, and the majority of office spaces face the lively central area.
The research buildings feature split-core designs, allowing for flexible lab layouts and embodying the concept of organic connection - like cells, brimming with life and purpose. Passive design strategies use solar analysis to shape façade shading for energy efficiency. Low-E glass, and solar panels on the roof – all arranged in a distinctive fingerprint pattern – reflect the project’s emphasis on energy savings and visual identity.

The design creates a sense of belonging by dividing the campus into distinct destinations and activities. Amenities like the café, canteen, and gym are integrated into the lower levels, blending wellness with everyday work life. A second-floor walkway connects all buildings, serving as both a circulation route and an open space for relaxation. It also includes natural ventilation, nursing rooms on each floor, and vertically integrated green spaces, promoting a healthier and more sustainable work environment.
