This new education campus, built on the site of a former steelworks, is a key part of one of Europe’s largest regeneration projects.
At its centre is a five-storey teaching and learning building, featuring learning pods that extend into a four-storey glazed atrium. The campus also includes a flexible workshop building, a pre-school nursery, and a 50-bed student residence housed in a distinctive seven-storey cylindrical tower.
A central landscaped plaza connects the various buildings, with entrances positioned to encourage movement and interaction. Low perimeter walls double as informal seating areas, creating welcoming social spaces. Designed to ensure learning is accessible to all, the campus provides a modern, integrated environment that supports education and community engagement.
