The project, a joint venture between Berkeley Homes and Peabody, transforms a vacant industrial site into a dynamic new neighbourhood with housing, local retail, and a new town park. The project will deliver 1,750 new homes (40% affordable) and features a biodiverse landscape with active play spaces to encourage healthy living.

Plumstead West Thamesmead masterplan

The vision for the development is a modern reimagination of the traditional London streets and squares, building on the heritage and history of Peabody. Generous public spaces with water at the forefront of the design, create quietness and tranquillity when required, as well as vibrancy, intrigue and practicality in equal measure. This in turn encourages places where the community can come together to foster a sense of belonging and ownership.

The development will act as a catalyst for wider investment and development of the commercial and employment opportunities in the area. The aim is to create a scheme that complements and adds to the facilities of Plumstead to make this a truly desirable and vibrant mixed-use environment that provides employment space for local people.
