The Royal College of Physicians opens an exciting new purpose-built office in partnership with Liverpool City Council called RCP at The Spine.
The design has been informed by the WELL standard, which implements, validates and measures features that support human health and wellbeing. WELL standards comprise seven concepts: air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort and mind. The Spine will be a groundbreaking, world-leading example of biophilic architecture, supporting mental and physical wellbeing for staff and visitors.
We provided full environmental design services, working in collaboration with AHR architects to achieve BREEAM Outstanding / WELL Platinum. Heating is provided from a new low carbon district heat network, mitigating emission of local pollutants and helping Liverpool respond to the climate emergency.
