The new building is notably low-carbon as part of the school’s ethos of sustainable business strategies. The centre has an emphasis on postgraduate learning and research, with flexible group learning and media facilities to promote extended community and international links.

It provides students, staff and business partners with innovative spaces and a collaborative environment, centred around a winter garden. The site is located in parkland on a hillside overlooking an estuary, and forms an important link between the existing 1960s campus and the new knowledge gateway research park.
The BREEAM Excellent building reflects the university’s vision for growth, excellence and sustainability. It was the first zero-carbon business school in the UK.
