Goodricke College, University of York

Facts

Location Client Cost Completion
York, UK University of York £30m 2009

Project details

Simply yet considerately designed college houses are skilfully manipulated in scale and massing to give the scheme its distinctive flowing/undulating roofscape, creating sunny courtyard spaces.

A variety of storey heights and a range of materials, textures and colours are used to enliven the elevations and break down the scale of the housing.

The layout creates three south facing, soft landscaped, sheltered courtyards which can be used as informal gathering, relaxation and recreation spaces.

This sets the bar very high for student accommodation
