Gavin joined BDP in 2001 and is the head of the acoustic profession across the practice.
Gavin has been working in acoustic consultancy for over 20 years and joined BDP in 2001. He has overall responsibility for the profession and leads the Manchester acoustics group. He manages a team of consultants and supports engineers on a variety of projects. He also acts as lead consultant overseeing projects across all sectors, including residential, commercial, retail, office, industrial, educational and healthcare. He is responsible for complete acoustic consultancy design, applying his expertise to all project stages from initial design concepts and planning applications through to site inspections and final commissioning. Gavin was responsible for the acoustic design of the BDP studio in Ducie Street as well as Manchester City Football Academy. One of the team’s largest schemes was the Qatar National Convention in Doha which required many complex acoustic design elements all to very high standards, including isolated substructures, fully-floating auditoria and low noise environments.
