She is also an urbanism director with more than 20 years’ extensive international experience as a masterplanner and urban designer.
Based in New Delhi, Manisha has worked on projects across India, Middle East, China, Southeast Asia and the UK. She has led the masterplanning of a wide range of projects including city masterplans, green field masterplans, smart city proposals, residential and mixed use townships, transit oriented masterplans, projects for social inclusion and public realm strategies.
Manisha believes the key contribution urban designers can make is to work collaboratively with design teams to respond to the project’s challenges creatively and effectively. She believes that all projects should be underpinned by a well-founded vision, driven by an agreed common set of principles between all stakeholders, to focus on details that will ultimately inform the development’s success.
Manisha is the chair of the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Women’s Leadership Initiative. Established in 2011, the global programme aims to increase both the number and visibility of women leaders throughout ULI’s vast network.
