Mixed use developments
As cities expand and populations grow, we are dedicated to designing sustainable, mixed-use developments that meet the diverse needs of urban life. By 2050, 70% of the world’s population will live in cities, and compact, mixed-use neighbourhoods will be essential to manage this growth.
We create dynamic mixed-use developments that enrich urban life. By integrating public and private spaces, we promote economic growth, social cohesion, and sustainability. Our mixed-use developments bring together residential, commercial, and recreational spaces in one cohesive design, creating vibrant spaces that help communities to thrive. In addition, they make efficient use of land, helping to protect natural and historic resources while enhancing the quality of life for residents.

From the form of the city, its infrastructure and transport systems to its mix of uses, city scale design is increasingly focusing on flexible mixed use models so that districts are not overdependent on one particular activity.
By blending commerce, leisure, dining, residential spaces, and offices, we transform city quarters into vibrant, multi-functional hubs that support a 24-hour economy. This continuous flow of activity strengthens urban resilience by diversifying income streams, enhancing foot traffic, and ensuring areas remain lively and economically active around the clock.
Strategic, urban masterplan-driven development is crucial for realising these benefits. Whether revitalising existing assets or unlocking new revenue opportunities, the key to success lies in designing spaces that respond to local social and economic needs. Rigorous research ensures that the mix of uses is authentic, community-focused, and tailored to the unique identity of the area.
Beyond economics, the mixed use model plays a vital role in creating inclusive, liveable environments that foster a sense of belonging, enhance cultural vibrancy, and contribute to long-term urban sustainability. A well-executed approach doesn't just generate commercial success but is integral to building resilient cities with thriving, diverse economies.

People need to travel in and out of a city and between its constituent parts to get the full benefit of city life. Moving people around effectively involves three factors: distance, density and transport mode. Efficient transport systems are important, but they need to relate to urban form. Transit Oriented Development (TOD) is central to a mixed use city concept. This means intensifying housing, workspace and public facilities around new and existing transit hubs to enable sustainable growth. This includes the densification of suburbs and urban extensions along new lines.

In a world where digital and physical experiences increasingly overlap, creating meaningful in-person destinations is crucial. Today’s consumers are seeking environments that offer emotional connections and memorable experiences. By blending the digital with the physical, spaces can offer an immersive journey that captures attention and encourages repeat visits. Digital integration, from interactive displays to augmented reality, enriches the experience, transforming spaces into engaging, multi-sensory environments that go far beyond the traditional.
Storytelling through design and placemaking is also essential to creating these connections. Whether it's through architectural features, curated experiences, or community-driven spaces, meaningful destinations are those that resonate with visitors on a deeper level. Thoughtfully designed environments that tell a story evoke an emotional response, fostering a sense of place and belonging. This creates a lasting impact, encouraging customers to return not just to shop, but to reconnect with the space itself.
By focusing on integrating the digital world with human experience, we transform commercial environments into places which generate loyalty, repeat visits, and increased dwell time, helping physical spaces thrive in an era where digital alternatives are readily available.
